Organisational Development

Organisational Design and Development

Organisational Development is defined as “a planned process of change in an organisation’s culture through the utilisation of behavioural science technologies, research and theory” (Burke W, 1987). Put a bit more simply “Management has primary responsibility for creating a climate where employees are motivated to work willingly and effectively” (Lal P, 2003). This has traditionally been done through slow and incremental change, allowing change to bed in before new change is thrust on the organisation.
