What is Performance Management?

Performance management is the systematic process by which a Business Organisation involves its employees, as individuals and members of a group, in improving organisational effectiveness in the achievement of its business mission, values and goals.

Key areas involved in Effectively Managing Performance include:

  • Planning - designing appropriate work processes and flows and setting expectations.

  • Monitoring - looking at individual and team performance continuously or periodically.

  • Developing - individual and team capacity to deliver performance against targets.
